Steinem on Palin: "She is Phyllis Schlafly, only younger."

"This isn't the first time a boss has picked an unqualified woman just because she agrees with him and opposes everything most other women want and need. Feminism has never been about getting a job for one woman. It's about making life more fair for women everywhere. It's not about a piece of the existing pie; there are too many of us for that. It's about baking a new pie."

Check out the rest of Gloria Steinem's editorial from the LA Times.

From now on, my wife should be known as the "hyperlink queen."

It is a great article. And of course, "baking a new pie" is much better than "raising the pie higher", or whatever it is that our excellent President uttered.

i like this article a lot. it doesn't attack palin, just makes the case against her clearly and methodically. i suspect obama will take the same approach. interesting to see what happens on the news shows this morning.

i've heard from a few friends/family who were big (big big big) hillary supporters and are thoroughly appalled and insulted by the palin choice. this is good.

This is a fantastic op-ed. I'm very encouraged that most Clinton supporters are disgusted by the Palin pick. Good news indeed.
