Forget the Markets, the ALCS Begins Today!

The American League Championship Series starts tonight. This year, we have a true Cinderella team, the Tampa Bay Rays, who jumped from worst to first in the AL East, posting their first ever winning season. The Rays feature an exciting collection of young players who represent the future of MLB for the next decade or so.

I, of course, will be cheering for the evil stepmother in this scenario, the Boston Red Sox, who, by virtue of their money, success, and annoying fans, have become possibly the most hated team in the country. Interestingly enough, hate could be in the air during the series as these two teams have developed a nasty little rivalry. Since 1999, these two teams have brawled at least 6 times, including June this year. The animosity between the two teams has become a main story line, which of course means that it will be a cordial, bland series.

Tonight, the Red Sox turn to pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka (pictured above). Here's hoping he can keep his walks in the single digits.

C'mom, Dice-K's uniform is not regulation! Think of the palm ball he could throw with that get up!

Sheesh, he already throws a delicious gyros ball, but adding this new pitch is totally an unfair advantage!

I really like exclamation points!!!
