Revamping Our Rails

The Washington Monthly, the magazine this time, has a fascinating article arguing for pouring public money into railroad infrastructure. In short, it could: save the country a ton of money in a lot of ways; provide an immediate source of public works jobs; reduce highway congestion and the many fatal accidents involving semis; and really cut down on our emissions. I highly recommend it.
