Thanks for the distraction post. Looks like we might need to rush to see the Wrestler after all. Even though it's not likely to win anything, I'm still more interested in seeing Frost/Nixon.
It's a bit of a shame that there isn't another great movie to give Slumdog a run for its money on the big categories. Not that it doesn't deserve to win, but that would add a little drama to the night.
i think it's an interesting sign of the times that last year's winner was a dark, depressing film about a cold-blooded killer(no country...) and this year the winner will be a movie with an optimist (but not a sap) as its hero. hmmm...
