well, apparently greenspan is now coming out in support of nationalization.
yes, i do think it could happen. desperate times and all.
i suspect it would be on a fairly small scale but i would love to see the behemoths like BofA and Citi nationalized. they ran those companies into the ground all because of big egos at the top. if we own larger stakes in the companies then their worth, why not just start managing them too. i think this sends a really strong message to the market that businesses need to be managed more sustainably going forward--not just on a quarterly profits basis.
