It almost seems unfair. Barack is cementing himself as one of the most inspiring, moving American speakers ever. Bill Clinton wouldn't want to follow him. But, man, Bobby Jindal is just being panned.
I'm not sure how long he can maintain this, but right now, all Barack has to do is give a speech and he watches the support roll in. I'm really encouraged that he'll be able to use this momentum to push his ambitious agenda through. I'm leery of him biting off too much--see LBJ's presidency--but he's poised to do so much good right now.
Agree David, and what's nice and refreshing is that he isn't "just a guy who is good at making speeches." He's a guy with a remarkable grasp of policy and nuance who is then incredibly able to articulate that in a way which is understandable, yet which doesn't speak down to people. Who could ask for anything more (feel free to imagine Ethel Merman singing that last line)?
And, Bobby..Bobby...Bobbby: "After Lying About High-Speed Rail Line From Disneyland, Jindal Leaves For Disney World (Seriously)"
While I wish this was the end of Bobby Jindal, recent history shows that one bad speech won't necessarily ruin a politician's career. Slick Willy gave a speech at the 1988 Democratic Convention (I think, I know it was some Dem thing in 88) that was widely panned, and 4 years later, he was President.
