Dave--thanks for taking over the last few days. Much of the Sassy family is (are?) having a very bad week. But politics can always make me smile...
Now this I can get behind. The new senator from New York?
This, not so much. The new senator from Florida?
I wasn't sure this story had legs when it first came out a week ago but now... The new senator from Pennsylvania?
Recounts, Missing Ballots, and the closest senate election in history. Still no winner.
Very interesting article by Kissinger on Obama's new national security team. I find it so interesting that Barack is receiving such incredible and unlikely support from the Repugs (Brooks, Rove, Kissinger).
PS I just had a chocolate donut. Oh yes I did.

OMG, I would LOVE for Carolyn Kennedy to be a Senator. She just seems so smart, steady, and progressive. For the sheer entertainment value, I’d be on board with having a Senator Matthews. Especially since one of the more entertaining (though generally in a bad way) members of Congress, Senator/convicted felon Stevens lost his seat.
As for that donut, good for you, you deserve to indulge a little this week.
On NPR they this morning they talked a bit about the NY Senate seat. Sounds like it could be a scrum.
And, no question Chris Matthews would be a hoot to watch in the Senate. Between him playing "hardball" with those testifying at hearings and his fawning over Obama, he could make C-SPAN must see TV.
And, on the topic of donuts. I agree with a quote from a random guy I saw on a Food Network special. Talking about this crazy pizza from somewhere in LA, he said, "It may be bad for you, but it's so good to you."
