Live Blogging, Wrapping Up

Okay, here's the home stretch.

9:06 McCain hasn't made any sense on his response to this SCOTUS question.

9:08 Barack did a great job of bringing up the Lilly Ledbetter case.

9:10 McCain's trying to attack a lot on abortion.

9:12 Again split screen creepiness from McCain. I am so distracted that I can't really pay attention to Barack's answers. But, the CNN dialy folks love whatever Barack's talking about.

9:13 Bridget is enraged at McCain putting "health of the woman" in air quotes.

9:14 Bob asks about education. Of course, it's about how U.S. students trail the world in test scores. Was there any question asked tonight that hasn't been asked already?

9:15 Barack's riffing on his education policies and the dials love it. But, the room disagrees with me that there haven't been any new questions.

9:16 McCain just said that we've achieved "equal access" to education. Mr. McCain, I'd like you to visit Walter Reed Elementary in Englewood.

9:18 Barack called for federal support to local schools and says that the federal government needs to do a better job of following through with funding for it's mandates. NCSL is happy with that.

9:20 Now Barack's on the attack on McCain's record on making college affordable.

9:21 Again, McCain just got nasty, this time about vouchers in the DC schools.

9:25 In closing, McCain leads with trying to bring change to DC, where's he's been employed for the last 26 years. Now, he's on to trust and taxes, but he's got no flow.

9:28 Barack's closing is all about the American people. Stark contrast to McCain's which was all about himself.

That's it, the debates are over. In the room, we seem to think that this debate was on the same track as the others--McCain's tone was nasty and probably hurt him while Barack held the course. It wasn't as good for Barack as the town hall, but I think it probably kept Barack in good shape.

Brian just walked in from school and said "What the hell is that pimp-ass suit McCain is wearing"?

So, knowing Brian, that's a positive, right?

It was kinda shiny.

All I could visualize last night was McCain shuffling around one of his 7 houses wearing an old bathrobe and slippers drinking a "hot toddy". Anyway hope all you cub fans are supporting the philles city of 70% Obama and 30% McCain-voting Saturday

Kathleen, I'm married to a Lehigh Valley lady who owns a Phillies cap, so I have no choice (but as a Cubs' fan, it's hard to see the Phillies as the candidates of hope!).

Anyhow, of all three debates the single best line goes to....Dave!
