- I heard a pretty nasty attack ad on Louisville radio, from the Obama campaign. With carnival music in the background, it mentioned that the Iraqi government is planning on spending some of its oil wealth on a gigantic ferris wheel in Baghdad, and that McCain, by virtue of continuing to support the war, supports the ferris wheel project. Of course, it drips with irony. I have to say, I found the ad pretty distasteful. Politico has the ad.
- Lou Dobbs is a hack. In his lead-up to the debate, he did a piece about Obama's connections to William Ayers. The story featured a quote from a McCain supporter, but no one from the Obama team. It also highlighted Obama's and Ayers' work supporting ACORN, basically giving the impression that ACORN is a radical organization bent on the destruction of democracy. Dobbs finished the piece by mentioning the NY Times story, which concluded that Obama has no real connection to Ayers, saying that he doesn't buy the NYT conclusion because the mere presence of the story proved a connection. Huh? Dobbs also got breathless about both candidates refusal to address the teeming horders of evil Mexicans flooding across our Southern border. What a jackhole.

Sassy on Location: Louisville Airport
Thanks to beautiful Chicago weather, I will be watching the debate in the A terminal of Louisville International Airport. Not good times. In the lead-up to the main event, I have a couple more observations from the world outside of Chicago.
