The Fightin' 16th!

Meet Tim Mahoney, Democratic Congressman from Florida's 16th district. He won his seat because his opponent, Mark Foley, resigned during the campaign after his dirty text messages to Congressional pages made headlines. Well, turns out Mahoney failed to clean up politics in West Palm Beach. ABC News reports that he gave his mistress a job on his staff, fired her when they broke up (because he was cheating), and had to pay her a $121,000 settlement after she sued him for wrongful dismissal. And, like the GOP leadership knew that Foley was messing around, it turns out our boy Rahm Emmanuel knew that Mahoney was having an affair.

Now, there's a huge difference between messing around with underage pages and an adult woman. But, I'm sure this will cause a stir and looks bad for the House Dems. Will McCain be bold enough to try to tie this to Obama? "Why won't he tell us about his real relationship with Tim Mahoney?"
