According the an article on the Hill's site, House Dems who changed their votes to get the bailout package passed are crediting Obama's influence. Sure, he didn't "suspend" his campaign or grandstand about it, but he did lead his party.
How did McCain do in all this, you ask? Well, the House GOP still voted against it 91-108. He couldn't bring his party along.
Many writing on this are saying that Barack won't make a huge deal about this since he wasn't really a key player for the package. And, the bailout still isn't tremendously popular. But, legislators are bringing this up, so I have to think he'll come away looking even better than he already does.
