I hate to be the one to dumb down Sassy after Prof George's valiant efforts to give us some wonky substance, but this just grosses me out and cannot be ignored.
Here's National Review's Rich Lowry's creepy take on Palin last night:
"Palin too projects through the screen like crazy. I'm sure I'm not the only male in America who, when Palin dropped her first wink, sat up a little straighter on the couch and said, "Hey, I think she just winked at me." And her smile. By the end, when she clearly knew she was doing well, it was so sparkling it was almost mesmerizing. It sent little starbursts through the screen and ricocheting around the living rooms of America."
h/t to Wonkette, who also identified one of the things I really dislike about Palin's performance last night. It wasn't that she was "folksy," it is that she was "flirting" that was so off-putting. Well, off-putting to me anyway, not, obviously, to Mr. Lowry.
