All I can say about the latest Rolling Stone article is: WOW! Actually, I can say more, but I have cleaned up my mouth for the sake of my 21 month old.
The man is frightening. Stay away from my country. The last sentence from Lincoln's Chafee's quote pretty much says it all.
"John has made a pact with the devil," says Lincoln Chafee, the former GOP senator, who has been appalled at his one-time colleague's readiness to sacrifice principle for power. Chafee and McCain were the only Republicans to vote against the Bush tax cuts. They locked arms in opposition to drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. And they worked together in the "Gang of 14," which blocked some of Bush's worst judges from the federal bench.
"On all three — sadly, sadly, sadly — McCain has flip-flopped," Chafee says. And forget all the "Country First" sloganeering, he adds. "McCain is putting himself first. He's putting himself first in blinking neon lights."
I suspect that Lincoln is too much of a New England patrician to use the words he really wants to use. As I thought, the Repubs don't like this guy any more than we do. And when McCain goes negative and it starts to backfire, hopefully they're going to say: "I'm not going down for this $#@@@#*$@!!!"

this is so appalling, i have to read it in small parts. so far i'm through page 5 in which our hero abandons his dying shipmates. he's also, by this time, crashed 3 planes due to his own incompetence, taken up gambling, and earned the character reference "mean little fucker". it's unbelievable to me that the gist of this story hasn't gotten out until now. as the reporter said, john mccain is basically is own special interest.
Wow. This is harsh and difficult to read, even though I had heard many of the criticisms before. President McCain is the stuff that my nightmares are made of.
