How did they not vet her? Seriously. This sh*t will come back to bite them.
Oh, and there is some good stuff by Nate Silver on The New Republic (and prolly 538) about how the Palin bounce has been biggest in bright red states. Meaning instead of winning, say, Alabama by 18, McCain might win it by 28. However, the bounce has been negligible in key swing states. Although Colorado and New Mexico are still scary (Michigan too).
Plus, in her Charlie Gibson/ABC interview she mentions going to war with Russia. Now, her reasoning may or may not be consistent with stuff other politicians say, but somehow I think people will be scared to death of Sarah The Barracuda proposing a war with Russia.
Lastly, I watched a little of McCain on the service forum in NYC and, frankly, he was very likable and well spoken. He mad me laugh *with him* at one point.
In the debates he'll do very well, I think. Hopefully the pre-debate meme doesn't become how Obama is an orator and McCain is a hero, so expect an Obama debate blowout. Because McCain will do well, arguable better than B.O., who can tend to wander and use umms and uhs and etc etc.
This needs a flowchart or a knowledge map or something. I get the same feeling I got trying to read that Garcia Marquez novel where everyone has the same name. Who's who, again? Heh? Wha?
OH and I'm curious to hear/see more about the Russia war comment too. In fact I might now actually go downstairs and TALK to John about it instead of blogging back to him. :)

Well, in my defense, I DO have the same name twice.
I will add "Magic Realist" to my resume.
