I can no longer listen to my Ipod without thinking about which songs I want you guys to learn for the next singalong. So I respectfully submit two requests, both Bright Eyes:
1. Bowl of Oranges
2. Spring Cleaning
Both are on chordie, I checked. :) And everyone can familiarize themselves with the lyrics here:

Now mind you, I have no concept of how long it takes to learn a song on guitar - Spring Cleaning to me *sounds* like it would be easy, and my brother can play Bowl of Oranges, that is my criteria for hoping I am not asking for something huge. Nor do I know how to tell if Bridget can sing like Bright Eyes, but the first three letters of their names are the same, that must count for something.
So, if this is an outlandish request, please gently ignore me. And let's start figuring out where and when we're going door to door for Obama.
[Imagining doors opening to Dave and his guitar singing a pro-Obama song ... John could write the lyrics ...]

I can't wait to take my cover act on the road. "I'm taking requests, but if I don't know it, can you give me a couple days?"
I'm happy to look up the songs and see what I can do.
Hmmm. All of my posts come up as having been written at 4:38 p.m. yesterday, and thus lie underneath today's earlier posts. So, I'm going to channel the McCain-Palin campaign and claim that Salon Sassy is sexist against its male posters!
dave-it must be the clock on your computer that's messed up--FIX IT. between you and john johnson (who only made his first successful post this week) i'm thinking we just buy our own printing press and go back to the weekly town newspaper.
No, the clock on my computer is fine. Note the correct time for all my comments and the fact that this problem just popped up for me today. But, way to try to make it my fault. I think we can all blame Google for this one.
actually, this has happened more than once with your posts since we started the blog. sorry, but it's true! and for some reason it's only your posts?!?!
sorry, i think i'm being snarky. just gonna go watch my stories now--ridge is supposed to get into it with thorne today over the family business.
It's weird, but for some reason, it's still trying to register my posts as happening at 4:38 p.m. yesterday. Maybe Google thinks that my Economics Primer post was flawed and is making me relive it, a la Groundhog Day, until I get it right.
Maybe, Dave, you could borrow McCain's prototype Blackberry to post your replies.
Anywho, Seana and I chatted, and "Bowl of Oranges" is not the song she is hoping you might learn.
Instead it's "An Attempt to Tip the Scales".
Carry on.
