I Knew it!

this was all one big ruse to get the Palin-Biden debate cancelled. the good news is that fox news is leading with obama's quote "i think we can do more than one thing at a time" on their website. i think even the repugs are fed up with defending mccain.

According to CNN, McCain's camp is now proposing that the debate be postponed by moving it to into the time and venue of the vice presidential debate, scheduled for Oct. 2nd in St. Louis. The Biden-Palin debate would then be itself rescheduled to happen later on.

So, that'd be delaying two debates, not just one. And what are the odds that the vice presidential debate would manage to somehow never get rescheduled, given the McCain camp's intensive efforts to keep her away from reporters and questioners?

ahhh the dumbassery, will it never end.

Ummm, so far Johnny Mac's gambit? not so much the people's choice. Survey says:

Immediately after John McCain's announcement at 3 pm ET today, Wednesday 09/24/08, that he was suspending his campaign and seeking to postpone Friday's scheduled presidential debate, SurveyUSA interviewed 1,000 adults nationwide.

Key findings:
A majority of Americans say the debate should be held on Friday. Just 10% say the debate should be postponed. A sizable percentage of Americans, 36%, think the focus of the debate should be modified to focus more on the economy. 3 of 4 Americans say the presidential campaigns should continue. Just 14% say the presidential campaigns should be suspended. If Friday's debate does not take place, 46% of Americans say that would be bad for America.

yeah, unfortunately i read the deets on this poll. the callers, for the most part, weren't aware of mccain's call to postpone the debate. so, the numbers are misleading.

Ooh, another angle from Washington Monthly: McCain also wanted to take people's eyes off of her interview with Katie Couric. Hence bailing on Letterman and sitting down with Katie.
